Nothing feels quite as magical in winter as looking outside at a freshly fallen layer of sparkling snow with the soft, white flakes still slowly falling to the earth. The trees all covered in glittering ice, as if they themselves had been made of crystal and dusted in diamonds.
I wanted to bring a little of the winter sparkle inside to my tablescape which I set up two different ways. First, I set it up one night as a buffet …
… and then as a center display for the dining room table…
I started with two of the cheapest, artificial pine swags with pine cones from Michaels. I added more pine cones and some white lights, some sparkling white ornament balls, gold candles of different heights and widths, and some floating white candles in vases of water atop the same wooden rounds I used in my thanksgiving decor.
Since I didn’t need the ends of the table for seating, I extended the winter theme by adding two small white trees and two reindeer! I added a small strand of lights to each tree and then the golden reindeer to complete the look. I don’t know where the reindeer were originally from as I picked them up back in the summer at a local tag sale. I absolutely love the finished look with the candles lit and the table set. It brings such a warm glow and cozy winter feel to family dinners and time together conversing around the table, that you will be in no rush to jump up and do the dishes or get back to whatever else it is you have to do next. For now, just take a moment and enjoy time being with the ones you love most.
