This year we are loving Emojis 😍😃😊😄😘😳! My oldest daughter was begging for an emoji themed birthday party to celebrate with a few girls from school. So here we go…
We ordered emoji balloons off amazon. For the water bottles , I cut pieces of black construction paper and taped them around the bottles and decorated them with the closest thing that Michaels had to emoji stickers. However, after the fact, I found that Hobby Lobby actually does have emoji stickers! Oh well, these turned out pretty cute anyway.
Yellow chocolate covered Oreos with hand decorated emoji faces were a cute touch but with all the other food, the girls opted to take them home with their goody bags.
Making them was a little bit time consuming and they will need to sit and dry thoroughly before you put them in the bags.
I left mine in a container overnight so the icing was totally dry and then put them in the wrappers. I forgot to buy a styrofoam block to stand them up in, I took an egg carton turned it upside down and wrapped it in paper and then poked the sticks in to stand them up.
For goody bags, we used emoji bags with emoji pencils, sharpeners, and erasers as well as nail polish and Lindt white chocolate truffles and a couple of Oreo pops to go in as well 😊
We added some fresh strawberries and grapes to the table as well as a dish of yellow sixlet chocolate candies which were all a big hit.
I made a 2 layer vanilla cake and filled it with vanilla pudding and fresh sliced strawberries. I frosted it with a homemade vanilla buttercream and added printed edible emoji icing pieces from the etsy shop “DecorEats” and then I simply piped on a shell border around the edges of the cake with the rest of my vanilla buttercream.
The party was a huge success and the girls had a great time. The emoji party idea was such a fun theme for tweens and teens and kept the girls laughing well into the evening. Good luck with your own emoji party and I hope this post helped give you some new ideas!
